If Chris Wood Could, then Chris Wood Would.
Where Do I Start?
Double Game Week? Chris Wood Hattrick? Assistant Manager Chip Activated?
Lets go with Chris Wood's hattrick. Nottingham Forest absolutely polarised Brighton. They had 38% possession and put 7 past them. Sometimes football doesn't make sense. Wood takes his total to 17 goals for the season so far. He's level with Alexander Isak, 1 behind Ering Haaland and 4 behind Mohamed Salah. The Kiwi's 3 goals obviously got him the full 3 bonus points, plus the game time points took his total to 17 points for the week.

I made two transfers for game week 24. Matz Sels came out as I was slightly tired of doubling up on Forest players at the back. Joao Pedro just wasn't delivering for my team and had blanked 3 weeks in a row and would have blanked for me this week too. I think Brighton are just out of form at the moment and being smacked for 7 this week just clarifies that. Cody Gakpo comes in for Joao Pedro as there's a double game week for Liverpool and it financially made sense. Gakpo started for Liverpool against Bournemouth (Away), and got an Assist for one of Salah's two goals.
Yeah, Salah got two more goals for my team against Bournemouth (Away). Just like Wood, the Egyptian picked up 3 bonus points, a clean sheet point and 2 game time points. This took his total to 16, and as he's my captain, 32 points for the team.
My defence wasn't too bad this week. Well 2 out of 3 ain't bad, right? Both Aina and Trent Alexander-Arnold got me valuable clean sheet points. Both scoring decent points for the team. Liverpool have two games this game week. On February 12th they travel to Goodison Park to play there previously postponed game against Everton. The game was called off due to a storm that effected the UK towards the end of 2024. Hopefully, Trent, Salah and Gakpo get us even more points in that game too.
For their second home game in a row, Newcastle United were disappointing. A 1-2 loss to Fulham (Home) meant that Lewis Hall, Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak all blanked for me. Are The Tooooon slightly going off the boil? Is it time to double down on Magpie players? Maybe in the coming weeks I will transfer out either Hall or Gordon, for players in a more in form team.

One thing that I thought I was on top of The Assistant Manager Chip. I've played it this week over playing the Triple Captain Chip. At first I didn't realise I could only do one or the other, however, to be honest, I don't think I was ever going to triple captain Mohamed Salah this week anyway. Yes, Liverpool have two games this game week, yet they are both away games and Bournemouth and Everton are both in half decent form. I didn't really see Liverpool steam rolling either side.
I have brought in David Moyes; the Everton Manager; as they also have two game this game week and only costs £0.5M. Even though I made two transfers which cost me -4 points, I still see the benefits from make this decision. In the first game against Leicester City (Away), he scored 12 points, but I must admit I don't really know why he got 12 points.
Morgan Rogers blanked once again for Aston Villa. He also got booked in Villa's game against Wolves (Away). Rogers is on very thin ice in my team. Even though Villa has a couple of easy fixtures coming up, it is a strong possibility that I will be transferring him out of my team in the very near future.
Cole Palmer could have gone three blanks in a row. But he didn't. Chelsea played against West Ham (Home), on Monday Night Football and Palmer provided an assist. Along with his game time points and assist points he also scored 2 bonus points. I'm not sure why he got two points when it was Pedro Neto who scored Chelsea's goal and Palmer only assisted. Oh well, I'll take it.
77 points in total for my team. With 12 points scored from my assistant manager chip I scored 89 points. In one of my leagues I am top of the league. In one league I am third. In the other league I have moved from second to third, however, the team that was in third behind me has moved up to first; by one point; after a strong game week, and I am only 4 points behind second. Even though I have moved down a place, I feel I could go top after a strong game week with the right players scoring big.
I am just outside the 1M in the overall league. I need a few good game weeks in February to get into the top million.
My current crop of players have served me well. I haven't made many changes in the last few weeks. Maybe even since the Christmas period and it has shot me up every league I am in. However, some players are starting to drop off and it may mean that I have to change a few out. Lewis Hall, Anthony Gordon and Morgan Rogers are probably the first to go. I'm not saying all 3 will definitely be out this month, yet it is likely 2 of the 3 will be gone. Players I am looking at bringing in are from either Bournemouth or Forest. Both teams are flying and in great form, meaning a few of their players are in great form and could bring in some good points for the team.
